Since then the film has been invited by 16 regular international film festivals in the USA and abroad, winning 5 Awards. From Political Fests to Romantic Fests: A Guinness Book of World Records? David & Layla is in Competition at both Tahiti Romantic Film Festival in November 2007, and at 23rd Annual 'Le Festival International du Film d’Amour de Mons' in Belgium. Probably some record to move from ‘Political’ to ‘Amour’ fests via some 16 regular int'l film fests including Sao Paulo/Brazil, Avignon/France…, Stockholm, London, Berlin, Jerusalem JFF….plus Ashdod/Israel “Love” film festival last April which filmmakers could not attend due to clash with Philadelphia…. Feb 9th - Feb 16th, 2007: Le festival International du Film d’Amour de Mons, Belgium- 23ème edition Prix du Public/Audience Award for David & Layla: http://www.fifa-mons.be/actualite/communique_public/47?mode=normal Ex-Belgium Minister, Elio di Rupo, President of the festival and now Mayor of Mons, personally presented the Award to the director. 5 Awards 1.
